Every month we welcome the community into a space where ideas are encouraged, debate is topical and the beers are often local. Keep an eye out on our Events Calendar and Facebook page for the latest event details.
Green Drinks is usually on the 3rd Thursday of each month and often sells out.

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the magic of the Glenorchy Dark Sky Sanctuary. Travel in eco-friendly style aboard Appellation Wine Tours’ EV vans and head out to the stunning Headwaters Glenorchy Eco Lodge, where we will celebrate the beauty of our night sky and the importance of preserving it.
We’ll begin the evening in the warm and inviting Humboldt Room with an introduction from Leslie Van Gelder of Glenorchy Dark Skies, who will share the story behind the sanctuary, followed by a special screening to set the scene for the night ahead.
After the welcome, there will be two guided star journey sessions so we’ll split up into two groups. If you’re not stargazing there are three unique zones for you to meet new people, explore, learn, and unwind:
🌌 The Star Party (Far Lawn): Bundle up and join Corrine from Dark Skies Glenorchy for a guided journey through the cosmos. Relax in a beanbag, peer through our telescope, or use the binoculars provided to immerse yourself in the stars. (Two sessions run throughout the evening.)
🎥 Awe & Wonder (Humboldt Room): Prefer to stay cosy? Settle inside, stay warm, and enjoy good conversation while the Dark Skies and aurora highlights video plays on a continuous loop all night.
🔥 Marshmallows & Mingle (Scheelite Shelter): Gather around the open fire for a relaxed winter chat. Toast marshmallows, connect with fellow stargazers, and enjoy mulled wine or a selection of local drinks available from the bar.

Whether you’re here to learn, connect, or simply soak up the atmosphere, there is something for everyone.
Important Information
When: Arrive by 6:00 PM if you are making your own way
Frankton bus terminus pick up time: 4:30 PM
Cafe Marmolada (Queenstown town Centre): 4:45 PM
Where: The Headwaters Glenorchy Eco Lodge
What to Wear: This is a true autumn night experience, so be sure to rug up well and dress warmly!
Transport Options: Travel sustainably with Appellation Wine Tours! Van seats are strictly limited and sold on a first-in-first-served basis. If you miss out on a van ticket, you are still warmly invited to attend. Please make your own way to the lodge and carpool where possible.
Food & Drinks: Food and beverages are not included in the ticket price but will be available to purchase.
